Junior Plant Fitter - Surrey

Our Client is a leading construction company who own and supply their own plant equipment including cranes, fork lifts, HGV's and other heavy plant equipment.

Candidates should possess:

  • Good standard of welding and fabrication.
  • Experience of working on heavy plant and equipment is highly desirable as is working knowledge on construction related plant
  • Able to carry out planned maintenance and breakdown repairs on the company's fleet of modern HGV's Therefore, a background within construction, demolition, would be particularly appropriate and this role will suit an 'all-rounder' with a flexible attitude and proactive working style.

Responsibilities:

  • Working on Fork-Trucks and other plant equipment.
  • Carry out fault diagnosis and repair of HGV and plant equipment.
  • Ensure servicing schedules are followed in accordance with manufacturer's specification.
  • Ensure that the maintenance is up to date in order to reduce Vehicle, Mobile Plant and Fixed Plant downtime.
  • Carry out routine safety inspections on all core plant equipment.
  • Offer mechanical support to all plant, vehicles, trucks and equipment.
  • Ensuring that you trained on all aspects of garage and maintenance equipment.
  • Reviewing Health and Safety practices and implementing changes with the assistance of your Line Manager.
  • Providing a safe working environment for all staff and operatives who enter the Workshop.
