SCL Shift Engineers - London

We are recruiting for SCL Shift Engineers to join our client's team of experienced professionals.

Based in Central London, you will be working on a major civil engineering project.

The Shift Engineer is responsible for aspects of the contract as part of the Tunnel Team, with emphasis on control of the works and providing technical advice in both Squareworks and SCL.

The Shift Engineer helps to create a safe and efficient working environment, maintains productivity and communicates with the Lead Miner / Pit Boss to ensure that the works adhere to the correct quality requirements.

In the role you will:

• Deliver assigned projects to meet client requirements and achieve business out-comes.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned Project Managers and supporting staff, in accomplishing agreed project objectives
• Identify and manage issues, risks and interfaces between assigned projects and other interfacing activities
• Plan and manage procurement of resources for effective and efficient use across multiple projects
• Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulatory bodies regulations
• Undertake all works in accordance with the specific ITP, ensuring that the works are built to the correct standards.
• When working on SCL, maintaining Profile control for excavation and spraying.

Training and Experience:

• Have a good working knowledge of English, both written and verbal, and be able to report at management level.
• Experience of providing technical and engineering support at site on previous tunnelling contracts, ideally including SCL Primary Lining and Squareworks.
• Educated to HNC - HND level as a minimum or equivalent in a construction or related discipline. A low educational level combined with extensive experience in a similar role may meet this requirement.
• Computer skills - Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer.
• Hold a CSCS Card
• Hold Tunnel Safety Card / Tunnel Safety Training Scheme card
