Junior Quantity Surveyor - Kent

Minstrell Recruitment currently requires a Junior Quantity Survayor for an immediate start in the Kent area

Candidates will be reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor. Experience within the construction industry would be preferable but not essential. Applicant should have strong administrative skills, good problem solving abilities and a positive attitude.

The role would include assisting with the following;

  • Assist with or prepare monthly applications
  • Working closely with Finance & Commercial in maximising profit on the contracts
  • Undertaking interim and final valuations for works complete
  • Preparation of all sub contracts.
  • Contribute to the management and maintenance of a contract cost reporting system, ensuring all financial information is managed and up-to-date, track actual costs against budget allowances with deviations highlighted and managed, prepare cost liability statements and commitments
  • Carry out cost comparisons, cost analysis and value engineering to help achieve a commercially successful project
  • Tendering project elements in trade packages, carry out post tender analysis, complete and make contactor selection reports
  • Management of subcontractor packages including valuations, variations, remeasures and negotiation from procurement through to final account
  • Manage and control all costs for your project including sub contract, materials and services contracts
  • Provide monthly statements of cost liabilities. & production of cost value reconciliation reports
  • Preparation of sub-contractor contracts & orders, valuations and final accounts.
