Project Services Engineer

Constructing in the UK for nearly 150 years now; my client is a highly reputable and extremely successful industry leader in providing D&B, Construction, Refurbishment and Asset Management services.

Now looking to expand their North Eastt team; they are looking to invest in an experienced Project Services Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to join their workforce based in Leeds. You will be covering projects across Yorkshire 7 the North East and covering the Education, Health & Commercial sectors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Input at tender/cost planning stage Inc. evaluating M&E Consultants specifications and tender drawings
  • Prepare tender lists for specialist sub-contractors and major plant / equipment
  • Analyse bids and quotations for specification compliance
  • Raise technical queries RFI’s
  • Delivery of Construction issue co-ordinated working drawings to programme
  • Checking and sign off of Co-ordinated working drawings for compliance, maintainability and commissionabilty prior to issue
  • Delivery of plant and equipment to meet programme (Inc. factory witnessing)
  • Raise and agree technical submissions
  • Management of design team to meet their obligations (organise / chair design workshops)
  • Liaison with Construction team members (Inc. site inspections)
  • Manage CAD / Engineering resources to budget
  • Liaison with sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure order completeness, spec compliance and interface with Mechanical and construction elements
  • Management of CDP Specialists such as fire and voice alarm, security, lighting control etc. through the design stages
  • Engineering of Contractors responsibilities such as cable sizing, bracketry, etc.
  • Preparation and monitoring of Client and design changes

 

ABOUT YOU

  • Demonstrable experience within a similar role
  • Mechanical Engineering Background preferred
  • Thorough mechanical knowledge & experience essential
  • Qualified to HNC, HND level or degree equivalent – advantageous
  • Proficient in using Microsoft packages – Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment or as an individual with minimum supervision
  • Self-motivated with the ability to use initiative and problem solve
  • An excellent team player, showing flexibility and a responsive attitude to team/individual tasks.
